So i did, and my family and I, along with my bf went to Steward's Riverboat at Marina South Pier for a cosy family dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday on Friday. We ate massively because the portions are humongous. 6 people but i ordered 7 dishes. In the end, we paid about $20 per person but came back super filled to the brim. I love the atmosphere with the calming breeze and breathtaking scenery of the sea, the only gripe is the moving of the boat (slightly rocking) when other boats speed pass. If you're not used to it, you may get motion sickness/sea sick at first, but i've been there like 3-4 times so i'm perfectly tuned to it. :D
We chose stuff from the Baking Bread. Food inspired by the bible. (My phone switched off -low batt- so no pics :( )
- King Solomon's Stew - very good stew naturally sweetened by fruits and really soft chicken thigh meat
- Lamb Kebabs with Pita bread - can't remember the name "Rack of lamb" maybe?
- Promised land - really gorgeous bread with money, milk and vanilla custard -> the land of milk and honey God promised the Israelites
- Giant Goliath Satay - These are super super huge i tell you. You will need 3-4 people to finish. Really Goliath portions, but really delicious!!
- Tex-Mexican Combo- chicken wings in this really special sauce, deep fried chicken w sweet mayo and sour cream, and this mexican taco looking thing that was really good
- Deep sleep ribs - pork ribs that's soft and flavourful
Every dish (almost) came with their special crusty soft bread, some fruits like strawberries or grapes, and salad at the side. Perfect for a one-person meal but sharing is really fun too cos you get to try everything. I always look forward to going there.
On an ending note, my exams have officially started and i have a paper this Saturday. I feel so dead, trying to get into the grilling mood where i study from 10am - 10pm everyday. :(
All my bags are packed except for some clothes, electronics, toiletries and misc stuff. They are super heavy though i have tried and tried to cut down on the amount of clothes and things to bring. I am bringing 8 days worth of casual tops that can be layered with sweaters and jackets for the 2 month cold, 2 dresses, 8 bottoms (2 are for work, 3 skirts, 2 pairs of jeans, 1 shorts) 2 sets of purely cold weather clothes, 2 sets of long johns, and 3 sets of relaxing/lazing/sleeping clothes, 2 sets of swimwear. But i have 6 cardi/jacket/coats in total so that's heavy - Wind breaker, Denim Jacket, Light wool cardigan, Light wool pullover, Thin Fleece jacket, Outer Trench coat with thin inner fleece and hood. Plus scarf, gloves, socks, hat, leggings ... and 3 pairs of shoes - Flip flops, Brown Ballet, Black ballet that is tearing apart soon so i can throw it away and buy new ones once its 'gone'.
And those are not inclusive of the toiletries i am bringing (i have a lot of skincare stuff) or the laptop, camera and hp accessories, batteries and medication and lots of misc stuff (e.g. masks) and 4 bags (i am bringing my Longchamp Le Pliage, CnK Miu Miu inspired bow brown leather bag, Naraya Bow Bag, Fila sports bag in case i want to use it as handcarry and check in my current handcarry...)
AM I OVERPACKING? :( Maybe i should cut down to 2 skirts and 1 dress and 1 swimwear and take away the denim jacket? I think i should since denim jacket won't match my jeans and denim skirt (that is 3 bottoms clash).
I saw these on F21 and will love to get them when i'm there! Especially the second one. I love dresses. ;D
