Bliss. That's what you feel when you wake up at 11am with no alarm clock, with a cool morning breeze blowing through your window safely tucked under the covers. I feel like a child again at that moment.
Had my favourite red bean bread from this traditional Whoampa bakery. Couldn't stop eating it, i had two last night close to midnight before i sleep (ultra bad for your weight) and 1 this morning. But it's such a comfort food! Soft, sweet chewy bread.
Kills whatever health plans I have for momentarily happiness. And I am still so full now after that comforting breakfast.
A dear gf told me that my other gfs have been stressed at work. Crying at home because they couldn't take it, or that they feel unhappy with their jobs. :( She herself have mentioned before that being at ___ makes her feel dumb. It's like school all over again and she still have to work on an essay this morning.
For me, it's the weekends!!! Exactly how I like it, zero concern for work. Zero stress unlike what it was months ago. I am so glad people prayed for me, and I could finally let go of it during the weekends and after work hours. It's just work my dear.
All these made me reflect of how most people are misunderstood. And I can understand it so well because I was like that at the start - I allowed work to take over me. And this shouldn't be. Work, accomplishments, salary, other people shouldn't be the one who defines us.
We define ourselves, we have to be in control of our lives. Religion aside, that should be the way but I know despite me being in control of my life, God is the one who has ultimate power over how it turns out. :)
Yesterday, I watched this live performance Simply Ballroom with Anna and I felt like grooving to the music at my seat! Initially sleepy and zoning out over the past few days of 5-6hrs sleep...the music and energy of dance just jumped out to engage me into it. So glad Anna asked me :) She also sent me to a bus stop in Pasir Ris even though it was out of the way :)
Okay..back to nails. And health plans.

You are beautiful beyond description
You are beautiful beyond description, too marvelous for words.
Too wonderful for comprehension, like nothing ever seen or heard.
Who can grasp your infinite wisdom? Who can fathom the depths of your love?
And I stand, I stand in awe of you. Yes I stand, I stand in awe of you. Holy God to whom all praise is due, I stand in awe of you. Yes I stand in awe of you.
At this moment, this is how i feel about us. It is beautiful beyond description...too marvelous and too wonderful that I can't comprehend it, I can't put it down in words.
It's like nothing I've ever had. And I thank God for bringing me through all the past hurts, past happiness, to where i am now. And I know I want to make it right. It feels so right Lord, but it still sucks to feel helpless..
Maybe... maybe we all hurt for a reason. The past is a huge lesson - that when we stopped listening to God and choose to be blinded by the world's version of love, that he became the center of your life, not He, that's when things go wrong. People lead life with the wrong priorities, give their time and person to fruitless pursuits and toil but at the end of it, still feel empty and unhappy, battled with scars and wounds and regrets.
I'm saying all these, yet there are still things in my life that I haven't surrendered fully to Him. Things I want to keep in control of, things that is so hard to let go. So hard Lord, so hard and you know it. Please help me with it and help me to trust you fully despite these helplessness that i may feel.

Over spent! :(
I saw this on someone's blog and consider it very good advice.Overspent today..wayy over spent but what can you do when all the clothes look so good, feels exclusive and unique, and comes in a lovely quaint shop with inviting and helpful shop assistant? I feel good at least that the ones I've bought are from Korea.
1) Military inspired Satin-ish jacket - suitable for work and dressing up casuals
2) Peach Ruffle Shirt-top in the prettiest shade with reversible buttons - last piece and so cheery
3) Cranberry L/S bell sleeves top
4) Black Tiered Skirt

Total: S$305 + $190 = $495
Addition from Wed shopping - Topshop Jeans, Vest Top, Heels + S$190
It's a huge huge pinch. The jacket costs $138 and honestly, i should be really pinching myself to feel the pain but.. it looks great. Luckily i stopped myself from buying the Turquoise Chiffon Dress $148 but you know.. it's exactly the kind of look i want. Grown-up dresses.

A little bird told me..
A little bird told me today of an encounter between 2 stiffly cordial colleagues. There seems to be an unspoken tension over the air whenever an encounter (welcomed or not) occurs between A & B.
A usual lunch event with the usual gang..
In that little seconds of not too welcomed 'encounter' moments.
Walks together, says nothing. *awkward silence*
B turns to C, turns away from A *chatters*
A walks behind B, calls B. "Hey B, I think you should wear more of this type of skirts.. you look nice in it..suits you very well.. Don't you think so, C?"
C: "I know all about skirts.."
B: *silence* probably due to the random comment that sounds half-flattering or half-annoying.
Some time later..A & B sits across the table (misfortune or not?)
B chatters at the table to everyone else except A *makes an extra effort to avoid A*
A chatters at the table to everyone else except B *if it can be helped. makes an extra effort to avoid B*
Walking back to the office
A: "Hey B, you'll be on leave the quite soon. Does your boss need any help?"
B: "I'll be checking my emails.."
A: "Okay, feel free to email me if you need any help.."
B: "I will email D." (probably another colleague)

Dinner @ Sunset 1.9.10
PS: This dating of things in Mth.Day.Yr format is getting quite to me especially when i use it everyday at work.
To think about it, I have been uploading way too many pictures on facebook. Isn't fb a public display of your supposingly private life? And with so many contacts 'friends' in it (esp when it includes people frm work), maybe i shouldn't be divulging too much details and precious memories into it. I should be uploading here instead.
We went to Haji Lane to get some bday presents for my Cousin & dear geog friend Jocelyn and i saw these shophouses along Beach road. Grandma says that her family's coffee shop is in one of these at the corner, is this Bak Kut Teh shop at Sultan Rd what was previously her family's abode & business? Hmm.
Shopping along Haji Lane was quite a delight. I love little shops like that, they are unique and full of personality. The only gripe is i won't be too happy if the clothes are from online and sourced from cheap manufacturing places like Thailand. Point 1 being, I may be able to get it cheaper directly online. Point 2, blogshops sell the same stuff!!
And I want something truly unique. But ouch, that really hurts my pockets. Even when I am earning my own keep, i have been too liberal in indulging my wants (which i couldn't satisfy being the poor student of the past) but still there have got to be a limit right?
Had some tea afterwards at a quaint little bakery that i frequent whenever i want a quiet, satisfying lunch. Best for a Tete`-a-tete' :)
With a warm cup of Mocha
And a cinnamon roll that's pure YUM. I love the smell of warm cinnamon rolls.

Love the feeling of the wind on me when crusing along 'country' roads
Shows off my new watch from Solvil Titus :D I got it after my trusty $10 but look like >$100 watch broke and died. Technically it didn't die but it can not be worn again.
Lovely lighting, and as usual, crazily posing for pictures.
Boyfriend..
On the phone asking for directions to this elusive hideout
Haven't taken these in-the-car photos for very long. Used to take them all the time.
The place is lovely, just being in these 'country' areas makes me happy. But short of going to country clubs to enjoy such view, how rare is it that we get a chance to go to such places in Singapore? It's city and HDB everywhere for the normal Singaporean travelling by MRT. Can't deny that our amazing network of buses do bring us in to these country areas but most of the time isn't it too ulu and troublesome to find our way there?
A picture upon arrival at the secretive word-of-mouth but food, view and ambience is max amazing place
Comme belle!
T.H.E place. Unpretentious and picture-worthy
Starter: Half a dozen Buffalo Wings level #2 spiciness.
They have till level 10 and i think level 5 is enough to make a seasoned chilli eater cry. #2 is perfect.
To myself: Forget calorie counting, and just dig in.
Awesome way to spend the weekend: shopping in lil shops, tea at quaint bakery, dinner with sunset view and crazy-good food... watching the stars while being half-frozen by the chilly sea breeze. With someone special.

Don't tell him that, and i hate to admit it but i think my boyfriend looked really good yesterday..

After that, we went in search for Sunset Grill & a perfect spot to sit & chill at the reservoir. The handy HTC Hero was quite useful in helping us to navigate around although the GPS accuracy was quite off in some places.

Didn't manage to take more pictures of our Main: Some BBQ Pork Ribs and grilled Chicken as we were very busy tucking into this must-try buffalo wings. Savoury and spicy, don't expect much sweetness but it is a delight to pair it with Tar Tar sauce. We shared these 2 dishes and the bill was about $50.
To myself: Forget calorie counting, and just dig in.

Too much
Giving out too much information is bad. It's worst if you can't lie about it when more questions come :( It's scary. Withholding information is what people and companies do to gain and control their power isn't it?
Releasing crucial information timely keeps people/consumers come back for more. Power.
Not knowing what hits you until you've been hit. Power.
We must be in control of our lives and at the moment, mine isn't and i'm attributing it to that. Maybe if your decisions are only accountable to yourself, you will do it?

Zut!
Je dois apprendre la langue encore. Je veux et je dois.
Mais maintenant, j'ai l'espirit inquiet. Pourquoi? ;(

File me away
in your heart someday
you'll just be you
i'll be me okay.

Maybe a simple life is enough. Rid of societal ideals. To do that will be to void your life of media, c'est impossible! Zut.
PS: Dreaming of having a smart phone with thousands of fun apps, internet surfing 24/7, not that impossible if your phone bills is paid for by the 'grandfather'. I just need to pay for a phone! Need to wait till May though :(

Avatar
Beautiful film no doubt :)
The story is lovely and the animation is breathtaking, the avatar world is so real that in the end... you find yourself rooting for the unreal make-belief world rather than the cold, bleak world overshadowed by greed and ambition portrayed in the movie.
However, it is hard to call this film an epic . An epic in terms of technological wonders yes but it does not go as far as to touch your heart to the levels of true epics - Star Wars & Lord of the Rings (both wins hands down) and I think the reason for this lies in the lack of depth in the plot.
The love theme between a human and the animated comes across most strongly but it is far too simplistic, and the world seem too unreal to carry this theme across convincingly to touch the tenterhooks of our hearts. Do people even tear when they watch this?
I think more layers will help, and they could have developed more on the themes of friendship, self-sacrifice, meaningful causes much more deeply. After all, strong sub-plots supporting the main story are critical ingredients for epic success.
My verdict:
Be prepared to be kept at the edge of your seat and be marveled by the beautiful animation.
Don't have too high expectations of the plot, it is just predictable. Pocahontas remade?
Watch it in 3D...and popcorns always help ;)
I can see a franchise of MPRG arising from this movie (and indeed there is).. great way for cash flow. There is ample room for a second series if they can focus on thickening the plot.
